You can steal a man’s heart or you can steal his wallet, but stealing his car?...that’s just asking for trouble. Waikiki Vampire, Divine Thunder, and his husband, Tem, thought that going to hell and back—literally—was an ordeal. Now they’re home and things are a mess. Even Div’s precious car, which he calls his “other husband,” has been stolen. Picking up the pieces of their half-demolished home, they find themselves in the middle of a new and weird mystery.

They’ve employed an art historian who’s a real weirdo, and somebody keeps pinching their good wine and leaving booby traps in their garden. So they decide to hire Francois, a big, beautiful, black security expert to get to the bottom of the twisted events. But they keep seeing Div’s car, driven by the thief, all over the island. This is gonna give a whole new meaning to “thunder in paradise.”

Book Review

Ah, the vamps in Waikiki! Such a fun series that I tend to like quite well. 'My Favorite Husband' is book five in A.J. Llewellyn's 'Vampire in Waikiki' series and it's fun, quirky, sexy, and has some action thrown in. There's been a lot that has happened in the previous four books, including Tem and Jimmy's nephew who is part vampire and part storm demon, a visit to hell, an exciting Christmas, and visits from family. Never boring I tell you!

Their latest disaster revolves around Jimmy's much loved (seriously, much loved) 1965 Lincoln Continental which was stolen from the library parking lot they left it in when they took their trip to hell. Except that's not all that's going on here. Oh boy. When Tem was abducted and taken to hell, many of their priceless artifacts in their home were damaged or destroyed. On the recommendation of Jimmy and Tem's sommelier, they've hired a renowned art restorer, Gideon, to handle this task. Jimmy despises the man and, personally, I thought he was pretty shady and slimy.

As always, much excitement and a whole lot of sex was going on in this book. It was fun to see Francois appear as Jimmy and Tem's security expert. If you follow this author's work, then you'll know Francois for the 'Mingo McCloud' series. The bad guys were caught, Francois saved the day, and I'm not telling what happened about Jimmy's car. Thank you, A.J.
